Six sheets of red-rose writing paper — each in a lined and an unlined version — a printable envelope with two liners, thirty prompt cards for letters worth writing, and a sheet of rose seals for closing them.

The prompts

To the person who got me through it. To the one who left. To myself, five years from now. To the child I was. To someone who will never read this.

Thirty cards, each with one line of guidance underneath. Draw one when you know you want to write and not who to.

The ritual

Write it badly the first time — the true version, unarranged. Copy it onto the rose paper.

Fold it, seal it, and then decide: send it, keep it in a box, or burn it somewhere safe. All three are complete endings. The letter has already done most of its work by existing.
